Safe & Sound Teen Driving Competition

Wright County students will direct, act, film and edit a video production that addresses the top issues that teen drivers face:

  1. Driver distraction – texting, music, other occupants in the vehicle
  2. Alcohol or drug use (impaired driving)
  3. Seatbelt safety
  4. Speeding

The contest gives students the opportunity to share a message which focuses on the positive side of driving safely. Students will produce a six-minute video about making good decisions behind the wheel and inspire/challenge others to do the same. The entries will be judged based on overall impact, originality, creativity and cinematic style.

The video that wins first prize will be published on Safe Communities of Wright County’s social media sites. In addition, the video you make will be shown at your school as part of the pre-Prom safe driving campaign. There will be prizes for the top three productions, to be distributed at the discretion of the production team:

  • First place, $650 gift card
  • Second place, $350 gift card
  • Third place, $200 gift card
