Responsible Beverage Server Training  is offered to provide training and guidelines for individuals who serve alcohol or THC products.  We offer the training because we believe that training personnel in the alcohol and THC industry can significantly reduce the risk and liability associated with service, and can reduce instances of over-service, underage drinking and impaired driving incidents.

The RBST training we provide is prepared in conjunction with the Minesota Safety Council and covers laws and ordinances regarding the sale of alcohol and THC products, the effects they have on the human body, recognition of the different signs of impairment and intervention strategies to prevent impaired customers from consuming further alcohol.  The course also covers liability, both establishment and individual server, verification of age, forms of identification, and forms of false or misleading age identification.

Establishments are encouraged to have all staff attend a Responsible Beverage Server Training (RBST). Noted outcomes associated with attending an Alcohol Sales Training include:

• Ability to properly read and I.D.
• Reduced excessive drinking or over service to intoxicated individuals
• Improved alcohol server practices
• Reduced alcohol sales to minors
• Reduced alcohol-related violence
• Reduced alcohol-related crashes

Special Events Trainings are commonly intended to train temporary or seasonal volunteers/staff to prepare for events that happen during certain times of year for a short duration (i.e., city festivals). Safe Communities of Wright County has partnered with Wright County Public Health to offer Responsible Beverage Server Training (RBST) to bar owners, managers, servers, and sellers at alcohol establishments about strategies to avoid illegally selling alcohol to underage youth or intoxicated patrons.
